The Rila Monastery is the most outstanding example of the Bulgarian church art and architecture. The “Rojdestvo Bogorodichno” Church (Church of the Virgin Birth) with the miraculous Icon of the Virgin and the exquisitely elaborated iconostasis, cook-house and the monastery's museum, where the long and heroic history of the monastery is kept together with the famous Rafail's Cross made by a monk named Rafail taking him twelve years, the Hrelyova tower and breathtaking views over the Rila Mountain and the surrounding nature. Duration of the excursion – about 8 hours. Tourists will be transported back to Sofia to “Aleksandar Nevski” Square.
