The Troyan Monastery (The Monastery of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God) is the biggest in the Stara Planina Mountain, situated in the beautiful woodland called “Chukarka”, near the Cherni Osam river. In the main temple “Uspenie Bogorodichno” is kept the oldest icon in the monastery and one of the oldest and the holiest icons in Bulgarian Orthodoxy “Presvetaya Bogoroditsa – Troeruchitsa” (“Three-Handed Virgin”). The monastery complex offers to its visitors a rich collection of art painting and objects of applied arts and crafts, as well as an incomparable cosiness and tranquillity of the surrounding nature of the Troyan Balkan Mountain.
The town of Tryavna was founded in the 12th century but its true flourishing was in 19th century during the Revival period. The town has preserved many houses with original architecture, carving workshops and little stores. Here is the museum-house of Pencho Slaveykov – a noted Bulgarian poet. Other historical and cultural sights include the Daskalova House and the Raykova House, as well as the African and Asian Art Museum. We can not miss to mention one of the symbols of the town – the famous Clock Tower dating from 1814.
A three-star-hotel accommodation in a family hotel in Tryavna.

The Dryanovski Monastery "Sv Arhangel Mihail" (St Archangel Michael) was built during the reign of King Kaloyan in 12th century. The monastery's history is connected with the fights and the struggle for Bulgarian independence from Ottoman domination, proving evidences for which are the tracks of Ottoman's shrapnels on the monastery's walls. There is a monument-ossuary in the courtyard of the monastery, dedicated to the Priest Hariton's band of revolutionaries who had lost their lives in the fights.
A three-star-hotel accommodation in Tryavna.
The Bojentsi architectural-historical reserve is a picturesque nook in Bulgaria, which has preserved the memories from the past. The traditional houses, the scattered souvenir shops, the popular taverns and the original shekerdjiynitsa shops (candy shops) will shift You back in the Revival period era.
Departure back to Sofia at 3:30 P.M. Arrival in Sofia at „Aleksandar Nevski“ Square.
