Maria Regina High School focuses on preparing students and families to be well informed of the ever-changing landscape of the college admissions process. The mission words, Scholarship-Service-Spirit are grounded in the philosophy of the College Placement Office. We encourage students to strive to develop strong applications, create balanced lists and apply to colleges that are a “good match” for their academic talents, abilities, interests, and within their financial means. College planning and awareness begins in the Spring of freshman year. All underclassmen sit for the PSAT. During junior year, students participate in our CAP (College Application Process) program, which focuses on college and career planning, utilizing Naviance as a college research tool, and creating a balanced list of colleges. All juniors are scheduled for SAT prep, including diagnostic assessments as a part of their curriculum. Individual college meetings are scheduled with juniors during their Spring term. At MRHS, we strive to educate, expose and empower our community by offering a variety of annual events for students and families to receive the most current college information. Junior and Senior College Information Nights and Financial Aid Presentations by college experts, coordinated College Representative visits and a Spring College Fair are scheduled annually.
